Guess, born on September 25, 1981, in Columbia, SC, is the third of four siblings to Kent and Wendy Guess. He graduated from W.J. Keenan High School on June 3, 1999, in Columbia's Richland School District One. While initially pursuing education at Benedict College, Luis discovered his true passion for culinary arts. After a hiatus from academia, he returned to school, earning his Certification in Culinary Arts from The Culinary and Wine Institute at Carolina in August 2012. Luis is the proud father of two daughters, Sierra Nicole and Kaitlin Patrice Guess, both residing in Columbia, SC. His journey with poetry began in 3rd grade, and "Words From A Broken Man's Soul" marks his debut as an author. This collection of intimate poems reflects his trials and triumphs throughout life.
