I originally grew up in New England and, except for visits to my grandparents' farm in Pennsylvania, I never traveled much as a child. But after I college I had the chance to live abroad in Germany and travel all over Europe. This ignited a wanderlust in me and a desire to see the rest of the world. As of the publishing of this collection of poems, I have visited over 125 countries and all seven continents. One of the things I love to do when I travel is to write poetry. The new places, faces and experiences of my journeys are great sources of inspiration. Each new village can be a poetry prompt. Every new culinary delight helps spur some new attempt to write. I find that my senses are revived, and my sense of awe is invigorated. Given this, I decided to assemble a collection of poems about travel and adventure and titled it "A Gypsy Wind." The poems in this book are about traveling as well as about specific destinations that I have visited. I hope you enjoy joining me on this globetrotting poetic adventure.

In her second book, Bobbie Breden approaches love, travel, and adventure with a fresh step and excitement. Retired Lady Leatherneck (US Marine), Renaissance woman, and a lover of life's mysteries. I'm interested in how others view the universe, and welcome opportunities to see it through their eyes. I'm a second-generation American from the Midwest with strong European heritage, formed by my immigrant grandmother and vagabond orphan father, both fearless explorers and captivating chroniclers - I am the sum of my hereditary and ancestral parts. The wanderlust continues on in me. My favorite places are the ones I haven't seen yet, and my favorite people are the ones I still have yet to meet. Not content to merely be a mental traveler, my curiosity will always carry me to what there is left to discover. I hope to leave my footprints on the global canvas. The wind beckons me to follow it, carrying distant music and exotic fragrances.

In this book the author brings back some of his memories, thoughts, and experiences which you may find similar to your own. Some may be happy, some may be sad, while some may be good, and others may be bad. But they bring us to this time, where we are today, because of the all the decisions that we made along the way.

Clangs of metal and cries of war subside as a calm illness travels through the iron-scented crowd. There is no more flesh, only stone. From the sea of statues emerges the deity with her shield. Aegis is a beautifully written and illustrated poetry and prose collection, written to heal the soul. This collection contains four sections: sorrow, warfare, detachment, and transcendence, crafted upon the fluctuations of human emotion. Love, mental health, illness, death, depression, anxiety, joy, trauma, personal growth, and other aspects of the human condition are uncovered in this collection. The aegis, or Athena's shield, becomes a metaphor for our own individual aegises. They are the intangible barrier between self and world, protecting us as we oscillate between emotional states. Allow yourself to delve into the worlds of sorrow and resentment, vengeance and peace, hatred and emptiness; grant yourself the shameless ability to become acquainted with the feelings you prejudice. Drawing inspiration from romantic and gothic poetry, here is a contemporary expression of the human condition. Kimberly Burlamaqui's poetic outlook on human life is inspired by the works of Dante Alighieri, Edgar Allen Poe, Shakespeare, Sylvia Plath, Alexander Pushkin. This work explores greek mythological themes and interweaves elements ofgothic and contemporary literature.

Midnight Masochism is a trip through the dark and macabre with the true writer at the forefront of the Southern Gothic movement. John Patrick Robbins blends a mix of horror fiction and poetry infused with his ever-so-wicked signature humor to create his latest work. Forget what you know about poetry. This is not the typical bleeding-heart garbage that litters the lit scene. It's not a tired old rehashing of watered-down versions of poets from the past. This is a writer truly daring to be original no matter who it offends. Midnight Masochism is many things, none of which is boring or typical. It's writing that dares to entertain while making you think. It is true dark Gothic art, and to quote the author: art is never safe. Henrik Jacobson, Editor-in-Chief of Svartedauden Zine

    av Chad E Quiroz
    115,-
