A Brush With Redemption follows the journey of James, a talented artist wrongfully imprisoned. Upon his release, he faces the heart-wrenching discovery of betrayal by friends and family. Torn between revenge and healing, he finds solace in his art and a chance encounter with Maya, who teaches him the power of forgiveness. As James uncovers the truth behind his imprisonment, he must choose between seeking vengeance or embracing redemption. Through art and personal growth, he finds peace and closure, learning that forgiveness and second chances can lead to transformation and healing. The story is a powerful exploration of the human spirit's resilience and the possibility of finding hope even in the face of betrayal and adversity.

"How To Outwit a Pack of Wolves" is a debut poetry collection that showcases a raw and unflinching examination of personal trauma, familial bonds, and the ancient echoes of Greek myths. This is not just a collection of poems; it's a healing ritual, a set of lessons in the art of survival, and a call to arms for anyone who has ever felt alone in the dark. The poet offers a key to understanding that the greatest act of courage is not in avoiding the forest, but in learning how to navigate its shadows. Prepare to be transformed by a voice that echoes with the power of a Greek chorus, the tenderness of unrequited love, and the unyielding strength found in the face of adversity. This book is for anyone who has ever faced a pack of wolves and wondered how to emerge on the other side - not only surviving but thriving. You can find more of Zineb's poetry on Instagram @bootlegpoetry.

"Desiderio d'amore.

I was born in nowhere, West Virginia. Life growing up was anything but kind to me. The road to my early 20s was very confusing, painful, and it felt at times that it was neverending. It seemed like my value to the world as a human being was nonexistent. I thought I was just born to suffer, eventually die, and go back into the earth like any other wild and forgotten creature in this modern chaotic world. However, with tremendous effort and a lot of time, I have taken my pain and turned it into something beautiful. This journey and its battles may not have made me stronger, as some people like to say, but it sure made me more creative and resourceful. This is the essence of pouding au pain - bread pudding. It's a series of poems, written fully by myself, that detail bits and pieces of my experience feeling, growing, and healing through my journey. It's tasteful (no cursing, graphic depictions, or blatant NSFW remarks) but some of the content is clearly of a dark nature. It's mostly abstract; as extended metaphors are my favorite rhetorical device, so it's up to you to find the meaning yourself and relate it to something in your own experiences. I hardly ever outright describe any particular life events through my writing, so even if the pain can be felt with the tone and mood of my poems, the specific realities of it is all up to your imagination. That being said, I think it is work that it suitable for all ages. I hope with my vague style, which has slight influences from a lot of writers (my favorite being Emily Dickenson) that everyone can find something to enjoy with this book. It is free verse, technically, but I tend to make up my own formats most of the time, so each poem should still have its own rhythm and flow that is unique to me as a writer. My best advice to anyone who is currently languishing in a world of empty darkness, take your pain (cause sometimes, that's all you have) and make something beautiful out of it...something that will inspire others to grow with you out of that place. Most of us start in that place. Not everyone makes it out. If you need inspiration yourself, please check out my book. Be kind & much love, Elizabeth O. Fly

The Divergent Languages of Absolution is an honest collection of poetry and prose which explores the different processes of healing and the courage that it takes to forgive whilst you're still hurting. This inspiring collection was written for all those who are struggling to let go of the past and empowers them to deal with their own shortcomings and the apologies that may never come. Ideally, this book serves as a healthy reminder that forgiveness is not an easy thing to do because ultimately, it takes time and a lot of letting go of personal pride. May this collection help you to sever the chains of your affliction and free yourself into your purpose...For your hurt does not define you.

Whispers of the Soul, Time, and Nature is a poignant collection of poems that explores the intricate dance between human emotions, nature's wonders, and the passage of time. Each poem in this anthology delves into themes such as the enduring power of love, the bittersweet nature of memories, the complex relationship between humans and the environment, and the introspective journey of life. The poems are varied in their settings and perspectives, ranging from the lament of an ancient oak witnessing the changes of time, to the hopeful unity of humans with the earth in "Embrace of Unity". "The Bounty of the Earth" celebrates the nurturing power of soil, while "Echoes of the Empty Road" paints a melancholic picture of a once-vibrant road now abandoned. The book blends the beauty of nature with human experiences, offering a rich tapestry of imagery and emotion.

A Collection of Strangers celebrates the unique, lovely, and sometimes odd strangers who have made a lasting impression without ever knowing it. While the individual poems have a range of topics, from the fictional to the so-real-it-hurts, the entire book can be summarized as a passionate love affair with life itself and those who make it beautiful. Written with humor, wit, and a deep reverence for the seemingly ordinary, this book offers commentary on a myriad of topics communicated in an accessible way, poems written simply for the sake of their rhythm and comedy, as well as a firsthand account of the wonderful and terrifying ordeal of falling in love. A blend of tragedies and wonders, this book is one that will stick with the reader long after being closed.

Sharon Waller Knutson's "My Grandfather is a Cowboy" is a collection of poetry you read as though you were watching a film from the old West, but without Hollywood's make believe. Knutson's poems take us deep into the heart of cowboy country: Montana, Idaho and Arizona, with wonderful lines like: "My father blows into town / with the Montana wind." and "He wore a black ten-gallon hat / and snakeskin boots and Levi's / so tight they painted his legs blue / I never saw a gun but in Texas / he said, he wore a Saturday / night special in a holster on his hip." Rose Mary Boehm, Sausade (Kelsay Books 2023) Sharon Waller Knutson's spare elegant and powerful storytelling is crafted with simplicity--common words, syntax, to create images that are complex, entertaining, and poignant, all at the same time. One example is the image of young love: "I imagine how my mother melts like the butter in the pan." It's hard to pick favorites but I go back to the title poem, "My Grandfather is a Cowboy," "Toddler Houdini" and "Smoke and Mirrors" for the stories they tell and to savor the rhythm of the words and images. Joan Leotta, Feathers on Stone (Main Street Rag 2022) In "My Grandfather Is a Cowboy," Sharon Waller Knutson lassoed me before I even got to the first poem. Still, I'd already met the strong resilient women of her family in "The Leading Ladies of My Life" and suspected the men had a hard act to follow. No need to worry though, as Knutson doesn't believe in dull storytelling. Her twists and turns, especially her surprise endings, keep readers galloping along, eager to see over the next page.

Christophe Condello

The gorgeous poems in Under the Pearl Moon are accompanied by interludes of evocative memoir, where we travel with Rick from Ohio to Spain, California to Carolina, Texas to Florida-and more. (Maxson has moved more times than you can count, and with each move he's brought poetry forward to this crowning moment.) A lifetime of experience, gathered into a luminous book of poems, Under the Pearl Moon takes you into the armsof love, wisdom, nature-and, of course, a glorious share of pearls and the moon. ***Rick Maxson is the Every Day Poems permissions editor and a contributor at Tweetspeak Poetry. His poems have been published in Tania Runyan's How to Read a Poem: Based on the Billy Collins Poem "Introduction to Poetry" and How to Write a Form Poem: A Guided Tour of 10 Fabulous Forms, as well as in Sara Barkat's Earth Song: A Nature Poems Experience. Maxon's work has also appeared on The Poetry Foundation's The Slowdown podcast. *** "I absolutely love this book. Under the Pearl Moon is more than a collection of masterful poems; it is a chronicle of a well-lived life. Weaving prose pieces with poetry, Rick Maxson skillfully creates a rich personal mythology of geography and memory-from the 1950s to present day, from growing up in a Craftsman home in Columbus, Ohio, to adult life in rural romantic North Carolina, and then on to Florida. His paradise may in fact be along North Carolina's Eno River where he would 'so quietly live / among the particles of light and air, ' and yet his poem, 'Tree Frog, ' encapsulates the compelling, grand theme of the collection: 'You make me remember...the mysteries of the world...as I stumble in darkness with open eyes.'" -Dave Malone, author of O: Love Poems from the Ozarks "Rick Maxson's poems-interspersed with brief personal essays bridging the geographical and psychic residencies of his life-sing with birds living inside a Home Depot, scintillate with 'solder stars' from a father's glass workshop, and stick to our fingers like the powdery binding of a decaying book of fairy tales. In the sensory intricacies of Maxson's language, we find a poetry so personal, so singularly woven with the memories of a life lived reflectively, that we can't help but find our own stories in the pages. Reading these poems is like basking in shared moonlight." -Tania Runyan, author of How to Read a Poem and How to Write a Form Poem "In lines full of music and pleasure and longing, Rick Maxson plots the rivers of his life, offering glimpses of love and hardship, of the working-class neighborhood where he spent his boyhood, of his travels and travails, his parents' desires and desperation, and his own path into a life rich with change. By making art of memory, he reminds us that we are 'sounds living for a moment, each one / disappearing into the next, / then each one gone.'" -Todd Davis, author of Native Species "In Under the Pearl Moon, Richard Maxson brings several places into their fullness, exploring them through memory, relationship, rejection, and layer on layer of wonder and questioning. These poems, each with jewel-like detail, help to tell a story of longing, leaving, return, and promise." -Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, author of All the Honey "In this rich collection, lyrical prose adds historical and geographic context to reflective poems that follow. Moving across the U.S. and overseas proved traumatic and exciting to both the young and adult Maxson, and those experiences inform his writing. I especially enjoyed poems about his wife: 'I wait for the slender purl of your voice, ' and about his father: 'the beautiful energy of waves / breaking themselves over rocks into pools, / a larger love learned by loving.'" -Karen Paul Holmes, author of No Such Thing as Distance

The book's concept, borne out of weekly rendezvous on Sundays, beginning with the sunrise at Astwood Park & culminating in the physical form of this book, frames the poems contained between the covers with a mystical wonder. Bean & Campbell peer into the nature of the Self through the lens of the natural world & what they see is both lightness & darkness. Heaven on earth & arcane scenes from other dimensions are exposed under the light of their words where "...illusions of parallax" allow the reader to "...experience the joys of innocence/As a kid going out to play".
