This book contains a collection of poems depicting family, love, loss and most importantly, healing. Dedicated to my dad, "My Father's Spear" speaks of the strengths, lessons and guidance that each of us receives from the closeness of our loved ones. Writing these works allowed me to cope with the grief of loss, and I truly hope reading it can be cathartic in the your healing journey.

This book is a collection of poetry, from the mind and written by the author during a period in his life when all he had left of himself was a heart full of many emotions and no idea where to put them. In it you'll find poetry coming from grief, depression, loss, and, most importantly, love.

Somehow, I lost myself along the way, possibly from the start. I was always trying to be everything to everyone except me. 'Haikus' are a type of Japanese short poems that follow specific rules. Technically the poems compiled here do not follow some of those rules and therefore are Technically considered 'senryūs'. However, "The senryest of ūs" doesn't make for an amusing title.If you're wondering whether or not to get this book based on this little blurb, you should absolutely do it. Definitely get it because you won't regret it. See? I rhymed even though I wasn't trying. Although Haikus aren't about rhyming... And this book isn't (technically) about haikus. Through the use of poetry and prose, I hope to express the love, affection, tenderness and devotion which I first found with my family in our big log house, far back in the woods. I want to show how the urge to write about my life has followed me along moutain trails, down city streets, and within my own special friendships and romantic adventures. All those events do not hold a candle to the importance of raising my beautiful children, or to the myriad of the ongoing spendid experiences with my grandchildren and great grandchildren!
