He suggests practical techniques through which one can change one's destiny, principally by focusing and redirecting this miraculous energy. Years of research studying the world's major religions convinced him that some Great Power lay behind all spiritual life and that this power is within each of us.'The Power of Your Subconscious Mind' will open a world of success, happiness, prosperity, and peace for you.ABOUT THE AUTHOR:Joseph Murphy was born in Ireland, the son of a private boy's school headmaster and raised a Roman Catholic. He studied for the priesthood and joined the Jesuits. In his twenties, an experience with healing prayer led him to leave the Jesuits and move to the United States, where he became a pharmacist in New York (having a degree in chemistry by that time). Here he attended the Church of the Healing Christ (part of the Church of Divine Science), where Emmet Fox had become minister in 1931.In the mid 1940s, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, and was ordained into Religious Science by Holmes in 1946, thereafter teaching at the Institute of Religious Science. A meeting with Divine Science Association president Erwin Gregg led to him being reordained into Divine Science, and he became the minister of the Los Angeles Divine Science Church in 1949, which he built into one of the largest New Thought congregations in the country. In the next decade, Murphy married, earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and started writing. After his first wife died in 1976, he remarried to a fellow Divine Science minister who was his longstanding secretary. He died in 1981.

Walking past a homeless person; buying a top made in a sweatshop that you'll wear a handful of times; reading the news and feeling - yet again - powerlessness to the point of apathy. Today, it's basically impossible not to carry shame about the state of the world and our place in it. Though we try and make good choices and live by our values, it can feel like we're not doing it right. When the political is so personal, and the personal so political, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the sense that we're not doing enough - maybe, even, that we're not enough. In Unlearning Shame, social psychologist and author of Unmasking Autism Dr Devon Price explains why holding individuals responsible for systemic issues can be so personally devastating, and teaches us how to unlearn shame that doesn't serve us. By outlining small, daily ways to feel empowered and examining how real, structural change can and does happen, Devon gifts us with the tools to overcome self-blame, be truly compassionate to ourselves and others, and feel hopeful again.

Millions of women have already learned these time-tested lessons of love. The world has changed . . . Now it’s time for a new generation to find “the one.” In their #1 New York Times bestseller, THE RULES...Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider shared their time-tested techniques for finding the “one.” Controversial yet effective, THE RULES has changed millions of women’s lives all over the world since 1995. From Oprah to the Today Show, they helped women attract love through confidence and self-esteem.Over the past 30 years, the world has changed dramatically. Today, anything goes with fast paced dating and social media. While technology has accelerated the change (Instagram, texting, TikTok), biology has remained the same. It was time for a much needed reminder. The Rules Handbook was written out of necessity. Ellen and Sherrie were hearing from many of their readers who had successfully applied the original Rules’s formula but experienced frustration when dealing others. They wanted a similar strategy to create loving and lasting relationships outside of romance as well. This led to coaching workshops to help others establish their own self-esteem, boundaries, and life philosophies. The Rules Handbook will do the same for you while helping attract the right people into your life and preventing or minimizing any unnecessary hurt or disrespect. This new book is organized to help you focus on your own life first, remain happy and busy, and nurture your Higher Self, as opposed to your Lower Self. You can then set healthy boundaries with confidence, and not lose your power to distance yourself from opinions or comments others make in person or on social media. The Rules Handbook will empower you to gracefully step away from difficult people and instead, invest all that time and energy on yourself and the ones who truly love and respect you.
