I have restored and have enhanced every photo in this book quite carefully for this edition. There are still some heads in photos and hands in the air (one with a plaster cast... what was going on there? - Read on and find out). Some are a bit in the way, but that was a Slade gig for you.... You don't get lots of hands in the air at gigs nowadays. A bit sad, really... That is because YOU LOT wouldn't behave at shows. You (ok, WE) all went a bit mad for that hour and a bit. I am not going to apologise for you lot creating the atmosphere you did at the many gigs I went to - and some blur in some photos. The band also had a frustrating tendency to move about, too, most un-obliging of them, but never mind... Not all of the photos are perfectly in focus, because of all that movement and because of rapidly-changing stage lighting levels. They would not behave. But I did my best - and here's the result. I've had people contact me to tell me that they are in certain photos, which is great. I have removed some heads from shots. Sorry if I have decapitated you! The shows in these photos meant a lot to a few people, who saw them on the net, when I had them up. I hope that you like them too. CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE and all that....

I like to take walks at Stone Mountain Park, near Atlanta and I fnd there is art and nature if you will just look for it and appreciate it for how simple it can be.

Amerikana - concerning or characteristic of America, its civilization, or its culture; broadly, this is typical of America. In a series of photographs, many of which are frequently paired, Mark John Ostrowski provides a series of photographs that places doubt on the ability of any one, or even a series of photographs, to broadly typify a culture. The background story is that Ostrowski was born in America, but moved to Spain many years ago, and has returned to America to investigate memories and a place that is no longer home. Many of his paired photographs provide contrasting viewpoints to a similar subject and investigates the broad diversity and contradictions that can be found in any culture, least a country as expansive as America. His photographs show in a documentary style the upbeat with the despondent, the light and airy as opposed to the dark and moody situations. Ostrowski's photographs are but save for one color photograph, black and white. The outside borders indicate that the photographs may have been made by either a view camera or medium format camera, but nevertheless of the type of camera, there is spontaneity within the photographs, and usually a direct contact between the photographer and his subject. Ostrowski is a street photographer with a practiced eye for both the humorous as well as the poignant situations and has created an interesting narrative about Amerikana. In 2019, their efforts to find common ground culminated in the passage of the John D. Dingell Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act.
