Albuquerque Artist Bobby J. Jones photographed his sunflowers one summer at his house in New Mexico. Bobby created digital paintings from these images. Now! he is compiling these floral images into a photobook, Tournesols. This word is French for sunflowers. By titling this book in French, Jones honors his father's mother's father's (George Cazmyr Turcotte) side of the family from Trois Riveres, Champlain, Quebec, Canada.

This book covers images taken during the 2021 Artist in Residence program at Glacier National Park. Sections in this book include images of the milky way that are part of the "Under the night skies" project (see below); distinct landscapes as seen from the the roads within the park or when hiking the extensive trail system. The book also includes a section of photographs of some characteristic wildlife found in the park. "Under the night skies" project is a photography and environmental project to raise awareness about the importance of nature conservation efforts and in particular, protecting the night sky from light pollution. Preserving the night environment helps support human health and heritage and preserves wildlife habitats. Night photography offers a chance to capture and document scenes that few people see nowadays due to artificial light and air glow pollution and can be truly inspiring. Born in Barcelona, Imma Barrera is a landscape and nature photographer based in Metuchen NJ. She is a graduate of NY Institute of Photography and has a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Imma has won several awards and exhibited her photography in a number of galleries worldwide, In addition she has been invited to join CollectorWorks, a hybrid gallery (virtual and in person exhibits) sponsored by Your Daily Photograph. One of her favorite subjects to photograph is the Milky Way and has been selected for several Artist-in-Residence programs (Capitol Reef NP, Acadia NP, Glacier NP and Grand Canyon NP) for her night sky photography, In addition, she was shortlisted in the Landscape category of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards' Professional competition with her series "Under the Night Sky". Imma runs educational programs about photography and seminars to raise awareness about the need to protect our natural treasures. A variety of images were captured with their AstroZoom lens including the moon, birds of prey and flowers. In addition, the built in mirror effect was used to create surreal landscape images 'in-camera'.5 360 ImagesSince 2016 there has been a marked increase in the number of cameras capable of capturing 360 or 3D 180 images and video. This section features some of the images I have captured with a Samsung Gear 360, Vuze XR and XPhase S2 camera including Chester Cathedral, view from the castle in Alicante and Folke Bernadottes Bro in Stockholm, Sweden.6 Camera BasicsA brief overview of the principles of image capture including exposure and the basics of image compression. Understanding these basic principles is a key part of developing your own creative flair. Even if you do not have access to a dedicated digital device, most modern mobile phones have cameras that allow manual adjustment of exposure such as ISO and shutter speed. This level of control can improve photographs in a variety of situations especially backlit, low light or night shots.

Throughout this store are architectural touches with reclaimed and re-purposed materials.St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Simcoe Street is a splendid example of Greek Revival architecture. The church's interior, classically Georgian in design, has the original high pulpit and box pews. I had read about box pews, but this was my first experience to be inside a church to see them. It was also my first time to see a high pulpit.St. Mark's Anglican Church on Byron Street has the finest collection of stained glass in Ontario.The Niagara Pumphouse has been converted into an Arts Centre. Time did not permit us to go inside.The Niagara District Court House is significant for its association with the development of the judicial system and the functioning of courthouses and local governments in the Province of Ontario. This three-storey structure was built by Garvie and Co. from 1846-1848. It is in the Neo-Classical architectural style. The courthouse is distinguished by the projecting frontispiece and a heavily bracketed cornice and pediment.The Exchange Brewery on Queen Street was the first telephone exchange building in the Niagara region. The Exchange is a new premium brewery and tasting room. Exceptional craft beers are made using high quality ingredients.The Niagara Apothecary is an authentic museum restoration of an 1869 pharmacy. All the pharmacist-owners during the history of the practice from 1818 to 1964 contributed to the health needs of the citizens and to the community. Interesting research followed our visit to learn when certain drugs were created, when scientific advancements occurred and to fit them into the history of our country.Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum at 43 Castlereagh Street inspires an appreciation of local history through engaging programs and exhibitions. A poster explaining Indigenous History was prominently displayed.255 King Street - c. 1818 - Harrogate House Inn - is a warm and welcoming bed and breakfast; it was festively decorated in flags in honor of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.The Shaw Festival Theatre has a seating of 856 seats. Plans changed and the theatre was only open until 1:00 instead of the advertised 4:00. I was disappointed as I had looked forward to going inside the theatre.The former country home of lawyer Samuel E. Weir, RiverBrink opened to the public in 1983 as a fine art museum with exhibitions of historical and contemporary art. Samuel Weir was an avid collector of fine and decorative arts, rare books, and historical documents. We enjoyed the bronze sculptures by Marc-Aurele de Foy Suzor-Coté.Willowbank is in the village of Queenston, halfway between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. This Greek Revival stone mansion is an elegant example of the great rural estates of early nineteenth century Upper Canada. It has been repurposed as the School of Restoration Arts.
